Detailed Job Description / Requirements:
VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Programme Country Coordinator

Post Type: Full Time (based at Voice of Children, Lalitpur office)
Salary : Competitive Package

Project : CLARISSA - Child Labour Action Learning Innovation in Nepal
Contract Type: Three years with 3 months probationary period

CLARISSA is a new programme to generate a strong evidence base on, and innovative solutions to, the worst forms of child labour (WFCL) in Nepal. It is neither a run of the mill research program, nor an ordinary NGO usage program – yet is intended to expand on the qualities of all Consortium accomplices to progress in the direction of a decline in the quantity of youngsters in the WFCL in the program nations. Its focus is on surfacing key drivers of the worst forms of child labour and developing interventions to counteract them (preventing push factors at community, family and individual level and pull factors from unethical business).

The primary beneficiaries are children in the worst forms of child labour and those who are vulnerable to being drawn into it. The groups of these kids will profit by more noteworthy strength to stuns, better choices for their kids' protected and solid future and less intra-family pressure and struggle. Businesses will benefit from practical solutions to child-labour free supply chains. Policy makers, NGOs, and researchers will benefit from a knowledge of what works.

The programme is arranged around four themes or ‘workstreams’ - Social Protection workstream, Social Norms workstream, Supply Chains and Children’s Realities and Agency

The consortium, financed by UK Aid from the UK Government and driven by the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) incorporates into (in sequential order request):

ChildHope UK
Consortium for Street Children
Ethical Trading Initiative
Terre des hommes
By taking a participatory, adaptive and child-centred approach to evidence and innovation generation, and using intentional scaling strategies, in each country activities will generate evidence of the drivers of and effective innovative interventions to reduce WFCL.
